Jing GaoDeputy Directors

Born in 1983, he is a researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is mainly responsible for major tasks and project management in the research direction of air-water interaction and environmental safety in the high cold region.

Winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, excellent member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, he won the "Qixing" Outstanding Talent Award of the Beijing Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012, the "Shi Yafeng Young Scientist Award of the Cryosphere and Environment Fund" in 2019, and the "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Youth Science and Technology Award" of the China Tibetan Plateau Research Society in 2021.

He is mainly engaged in the research of water stable isotope and climate change in the Tibetan Plateau, and has made outstanding contributions in the field of westerly wind - monsoon water vapor transport process, achieving a breakthrough in the three-dimensional observation of atmospheric water vapor stable isotope from 0 to 1. He has published 15 papers as first and corresponding author in Nature, Reviews of Geophysics, Journal of Climate and other journals, and has cited more than 1000 papers as first and corresponding author. He is currently a member of the Council of the International Society of Glaciology, a member of the Chinese Committee of the International Association of Cryosphere Sciences, and a member of the Committee of Isotope Hydrology of the Chinese Committee of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences.
