Academician Chen Fahu, Director of our institute, delivers a speech at the conference
In his speech, Chen Fahu extended warm welcome and heartfelt thanks, on behalf of the Institute, to all the guests attending the conference. He said that the year 2022 was of great importance in the history of the CPC and China, and it is also crucial for the development of the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research (ITP), and State Key Laboratory of Tibetan Plateau Earth System, Environment and Resources (hereinafter referred to as "TPESER"). ITP has concentrated on integrating its superior research strength to promote the establishment of TPESER. On June 28, TPESER was approved as one of the first 24 key laboratories (to be upgraded) approved by CAS. In 2023, ITP will conscientiously implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, and effectively transform them into endogenous driving force for promoting scientific development. It will also accelerate the implementation of major national tasks such as the Yajiang Plan, and work together to make TPESER into an international open research highland as a "leading platform".
Academician Ding Lin, Director of TPESER, delivers an academic report
In 2022, following the principle of emphasizing both "achievements" and "talents", TPESER achieved a series of innovative achievements, with a total of 31 NSP series high-end papers published, and the Special Issue on Tibetan Plateau Research officially published for the first time in NREE, a sub-journal of Nature. At this academic annual conference, three special reports and 14 keynote lectures were delivered to share the frontier research achievements and important scientific research progress of Tibetan Plateau.
The invited guests give speeches
Ding Lin noted, in his concluding speech, that this conference was an academic feast in the field of Tibetan Plateau earth science. At the conference, experts and researchers had extensive and enthusiastic exchanges and discussions, drew scientific research inspiration and exchanged ideas and insights. Talents are welcomed to join in the cause of Tibetan Plateau Earth System Science so that we can work together to overcome difficulties, and bravely scale new heights. In 2023, we will make further progress, chase our dream in the Tibetan Plateau, and make great achievements.
