The key scientific question focuses on the ecosystem and human adaptation in alpine regions. The research group aims to systematically understand the mechanisms of biological and environmental co-evolution and to scientifically support the construction of ecological security barrier and the sustainable development of the Tibetan Plateau by realizing solutions to the issues in national needs, such as the vulnerability and bearing capacity of ecosystems in alpine regions, the energy path towards carbon neutrality.
